Two years, 1000’s of readers & listeners

October 15 marks the 2nd anniversary of Devious Web’s launch as a paperback and ebook, and just over a year since the audiobook version debuted—and I have 1000’s of readers and listeners to thank for the book’s traction so far!

It takes a dedicated reader pool of mystery, thriller, and suspense fans to build the Devious Web brand, and I appreciate everyone. Many have shared feedback along the way on aspects of the book from plot twists to family dynamics, and it’s been fantastic to have that input.

I look forward to meeting more readers at The National Women’s Show in downtown Toronto November 6 through 8 where I will be signing copies of Devious Web at booth #1728.

A frequent question is, “What can readers do to be helpful?”, so here are ways to celebrate and support:

·        Leave a rating and review on your preferred site. As you know, mystery readers rely heavily on reviews and recommendations to pick their next page-turner and algorithms favor books with higher review counts. Write as little or as much as you want because even a short comment like, “Kept me up all night” or “Loved Detective Liu” could be helpful to another reader looking for an intriguing novel. Goodreads, Amazon, Indigo, Barnes & Noble—it’s your choice of sites for comment.

·        Engage on social media. I confess that I struggle with Instagram @grandyshelley but I do my best to be present there as well as on LinkedIn and Facebook. All authors can benefit from likes, comments, and shares supporting book-related content.

·        Subscribe to my newsletter. My blog posts are intermittent, so to keep up with the latest news I recommend subscribing to my quarterly newsletter. That’s where you’ll first hear news about the sequel to Devious Web! Scroll down on this page to sign up.

·        Spread the word. Sharing a copy of the book or recommending it to friends, family, and book clubs can boost visibility for Devious Web and keep the discussion going.

I have already received the best reward of a published novel distributed worldwide by Simon & Schuster that’s been read or listened to by thousands of you. Cheers to the next year of building the Devious Web brand and teasing the sequel that has more action in store for some of your favorite characters!
